Location of heating element of electric water heater

In a standard electric water heater, you usually find two elements. These elements are located in the tank. One can be found near the bottom and the other in the middle. The bottom hot water tank element is responsible for most of the work. This is because cold water enters the tank from the bottom, so the element is responsible for most of the water heating.

How to Control the temperature:

Each element is controlled by a separate thermostat within the heating unit. These thermostats are switches that measure the heat of the water in the tank and make sure the water is at the right temperature.
